Joshua M. Fournier, PA-C, MPAS

Joshua M. Fournier, PA-C, MPAS, brings a diverse background in surgery, primary care, urgent care, and entrepreneurship to Exponential Health. He began his healthcare career as a surgical technologist at the University of Michigan before becoming a robotic surgical coordinator and biomedical engineer. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from Eastern Michigan University and his Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Grand Valley State University. After PA school, Joshua practiced primary care with Trinity Health in Holland before transitioning to urgent care, where he cared for patients for several years, including throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Joshua is passionate about preventive medicine, exercise science, men’s health, nutrition, sports medicine, longevity, and mental health. He was drawn to Exponential Health because he believes meaningful healthcare requires time: time to listen, understand the whole person, identify problems before they become disease, and work toward lasting improvements in health.

During his surgical technology training, Joshua learned the motto Aeger Primo, meaning “the patient first.” It has remained a guiding principle throughout his career. He believes patients are never simply a diagnosis, laboratory value, or condition to manage, but people with complex lives who have placed their trust in their healthcare team. His goal is for every patient to feel heard, understood, and confident bringing any concern to him.

Joshua has also built and operated his own business, an experience that deepened his appreciation for relationships, communication, and serving people well. Outside of medicine, he enjoys strength training, cooking, reading classic literature, traveling, tackling design projects around the house, and playing video games with his son. He has a particular appreciation for fine craftsmanship and the art of perfumery. Joshua lives in West Michigan with his wife, Leidy, and their children, Ariel and JJ.
